      Updates to my.analogapartment.com

Here's a sneak peek at the updated designs and features we're implementing into my.analogapartment.com in the next week. The first thing you'll notice is a simpler homepage, a faster workflow, the ability to keep and print a wishlist.

Based on your feedback, we're also working on a number of new features that will help you stay on top of what you have and what you want. The short list of new features we'll be launching in the weeks following this update are:

Custom fields for collecting information - Currently, we have a set of fields that you can use to collect basic information about your records. Many were looking for additional fields and some were looking for less. We'll be adding the ability for you to select which fields are important to you such as size, condition, label, catalog number, value, and more. This way you can collect as little or as much as you want without having blank or irrelevant fields.

Also, if you already keep a list in a spreadsheet or document, we'll be working on a simple way for you to upload your collection.

Collection dashboard - With this feature, you'll be able to view collection stats, vinyl news, and updates right when you log into your account.

Wishlist enhancements - After we launch the initial ability to keep track of a wishlist, we'll be introducing some features to help you find these specific albums and let others know what you're looking for.

Recommendations - We have an interesting concept worked up for recommendations. More on this to come...

Thanks again for all of your feedback. We'll let you know when the first update goes in and look forward to hearing your thoughts on how this product can help make your collecting experience even more enjoyable.

      The 1960 Emerson Wondergram

In 1960, Emerson released the Wondergram or as it was touted "The Worlds Smallest Turntable". It was a portable, battery powered record player, complete with swing out tonearm and speaker - all housed in a compact metal case.

Check out the video to see how it works.

Based on some recent auctions, a working model could be found for anywhere from $40 - $60.

      Definitely an interesting conversation piece.

      Unique and interesting record envelopes

Just came across another great vinyl record artwork site only this one's a bit different. Instead of highlighting the beautiful cover art or unique record designs and colors, this site focuses on one thing - record envelopes.

It's aptly called Record Envelope and this "little library of factory sleeves" serves as a great reference for vinyl geeks and graphic artists.

The site was designed and managed by Kavel Rafferty, an illustrator based in Barcelona.

Great site Kavel! Keep it up.

      Dust and Grooves

This morning, I came across a great photo documentary blog called Dust & Grooves.

Eilon Paz, the blog's author and photographer, interviews record collectors and photographs them with their collections. He does an amazing job at capturing the unique personality of each person and his photography makes you feel like you're right there in the room.

I spent most of my childhood listening to music, searching for records and enriching my musical knowledge. At one point in my life, I had lost all my records in some Ill-fated circumstances. Since then I had become a low profile crate digger. Records and music plays a big role in my life. In this photo documentary, I will try to unify with these true loves of mine. enjoy and come back any time. - Eilon
