If you're looking for an interesting place to keep your turntable, you might want to consider one of the hosts of wall mounts designed specifically for turntables. In addition to a great look, these wall shelves decouple your turntable from the floor and, in turn, reduce the chances of the needle skipping as a result of floor vibrations (i.e. dancing, jumping, falling over).

There are a lot of options from the simplest shelves to some more advanced wall mounts. Here are a few we came across:

Target VW1 Pro  (shown left) sells for around $170 and is drilled for mounting directly into your wall studs. Target also makes a slightly smaller shelf and a 2 shelf solution.

Rega Turntable Wall Bracket sells for $180 and is designed to work with all Rega model turntables. A similar one is available from Pro-Ject here.

Apollo WT-1 Wall Shelf sells for $150 at The Needle Doctor.

Custom Design Turntable Brackets over at UK-based Hifi Gear feature a glass shelf and come in a silver or black finish. Available here for $220

Stands Unique Transition Wall Supports feature also feature a glass shelf but use a more elaborate dampening approach to help reduce vibration. Also available from Hifi Gear for ~$345.

Floating Shelf on Etsy is a unique, handmade wooden shelf from user jwhitney100 that sells for $69. Check it out here.

There are lots of options out there and some can get quite expensive, depending on the types of isolation features and materials used.

If you're looking for something unique, designing and building your own shelf can be a fun weekend activity. Just be sure to do your research (turntable weight, wall material / stud distance, etc.) and consult your local hardware store for suggestions.
