I instantly fell in love with these handcrafted ceramic speakers by San Francisco based designer Joey Roth. The speakers feature two "acoustically-dead" porcelain forms, capped with cork and supported by a maple plywood base. The look is rounded out by a central control box with a simple analog volume slider.

More than a design concept, these speakers are actually availalble for pre-order (although they won't be mass produced just yet). Here's a bit about them from Joey's site:

Designed to leave music untouched, these speakers are warm, dry, and detailed. Their 4″ full-range drivers and T-class amplifier, encased in acoustically dead porcelain and cork, create a remarkably simple path from source to ear.

A beautiful pair of speakers priced at $499 and available for pre-order on Joey Roth's site..

Thanks to the Unplggd crew for pointing this one out.
